Senior civilian responsible for the safety, health, and environmental impact of 4,700 people on a 200 acre heavy industrial ship repair complex. Led shipyard and staff of 60 ESH professionals in a behavioral based safety program, leading to recognition as a Voluntary Protection Program Star Site and the Chief of Naval Operations Safety Award. Represented the shipyard to the public, media, federal and state EPA and OSHA through several sensitive events, including a worker fatality and the USS MIAMI fire.
